DINOSAUR DAYS at
the YALE PEABODY MUSEUM
Monday to Saturday, 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The Peabody's annual celebration of paleontology and
dinosaurs features hands-on activities for the entire family. In addition
to the famous fossil dig, there will be dinosaur arts and crafts and an
extensive fossil touch table. Museum experts will demonstrate how they prepare
dinosaur bones for display. From Monday to Friday, at 11:00 a.m., there
will be a Roxi Fox puppet show.
Saturday also offers "Birds of Prey," a live raptor program
by Wingmasters featuring eagles, hawks, falcons and owls. During shows at 11
a.m., 12:15 p.m., and 1:30 p.m., these remarkable birds will show off their
powerful taloned feet, hooked beaks, as well as acute eyesight and hearing. The
presentation also explains raptor hunting techniques, their place at the top of
the food web and potential extinction in a rapidly changing world.
The Leitner Family Planetarium, two blocks from
the Peabody, will offer free planetarium shows Monday, Wednesday and Friday at
3:00 and 4:00 p.m. Visit www.peabody.yale.edu/events
for a complete schedule.
